For example, the theme of Wilfred Owen's 'Dulce et Decorum est' is: that war is neither a noble nor an honourable experience.<br><br>Wendy Cope's 'Tich Miller' is about being excluded from a team at school.  However the underlying theme can be described as: alienation or exclusion. This poem also has a secondary theme: the tentative friendship between Tich Miller and the 'I', or the speaking voice, of the poem.
